- AOL Companion is a small AOL window on the desktop that is open if on/off line that tracks incoming email, Instant Messages, and news headlines, and enables the user to click on any of these to quickly access the AOL login screen. AOL Companion can be turned on/off by AOL Tray Icon/Auto Start Options/Automatically Display AOL Companion.
