SNMP Trap Service is responsible for receiving SNMP traps, then forwarding them to SNMP Manager applications. Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) -Part of the TCP/IP suite that is used manage various network objects/devices with network-wide rules/management . How it works -SNMP Managers poll SNMP Agents for information relevent to network rules/management. SNMP Agents retreive/update local network rules/management and send traps(change notices) back to the SNMP Manager. Dynamic Link Library (DLL) -files containing programing code that can be loaded/run when required to perform a function and can be shared/used by numerous programs.
